  • VP reviewing spring semester schedule to start on Monday.
  • Market Adjustment committee will be created after funding has been secured.

    • Approved, 0 abstentions
VI. Committee Reports
  • Faculty Senate Committees – Called for any available reports. None were forthcoming.
    • Ad Hoc Committees – no reports.
    • Faculty Full Time Salary and Compensation
    • Faculty Overload, Summer, Intersession, and Extra Pay
    • Auter introduces the Ad Hoc Committee on Tenure and Promotion Policy.
      • Membership:

  • University Committees – Call for any available reports.
    • Student Evaluation of Instruction – Autin:
      • Membership is complete.
      • Committee met this past Monday for basic orientation and goal setting.
      • Proposed renaming to “Student Feedback on Instruction Committee.”
      • Developed sub-committee structure.
    • Distance Learning Leadership Council – Crocco
VII. Old Business
  • Senate budget proposal to send to provost – Jason Maloy
    • Motion: The Faculty Senate directs the Executive Committee to propose the following budget to the Administration:
      • Officer compensation, First Tier: Give the option of either a one-course release for each semester served or a salary stipend of $4,000 for each semester served.
        • Applicable to: FS President
      • Officer compensation, Second Tier: Give the option of either a one-course releasefor every two semesters served or a salary stipend of $2,000 for each semester served.
        • Applicable to: FS Vice President, Secretary, 4th Exec Cmte member.
      • Travel budget: Make available $4,000 per academic year for travel to professional meetings related to shared governance.
        • Applicable to: FS President, Vice President, Secretary, 4th Exec Cmte member.
      • Admin support: Make available a share of administrative staffing to the Senate as a whole for record-keeping, website maintenance, and other tasks of a clerical nature.
    • Discussion:
      • Some oppose stipend for this service.
      • Motion to vote for items 1-4 in proposal (Berkeley, Rouen)
        • Green: motion to amend by removing all committee chairs from motion and including 4th Executive Committee member to 2nd Tier list. Rouen seconds.
          • After discussion about how University Committee Chairs are elected, Berkeley calls the question, Rouen seconds.
          • 24-0-6 vote approves calling the question.
        • Vote on Green’s amendment to remove all comm chairs.
          • 18 yes, 4 no, 6 abstain, so amendment carries.
        • Vote on Motion as amended: 24 yes, 3 no, 2 abstain.
        • Motion to send the budget to Administration carries.
  • SEI Use in APEs Faculty Handbook Attempted Change [Deans Council Visit] – Auter
    • Essentially, Deans don’t feel they can alter faculty evaluation rubrics produced by faculty. However, Academic Affairs will looking at potential handbook changes that will allow FS amendment to have some impact on the revision of evaluation rubrics.
  • Maloy: The possibility exists to adjust procedures/rules on travel and reimbursement. Office of Finance is asking for faculty members with experience to advise what kinds of changes might be beneficial.
