IV. Welcome and Report from Executive Officer (P. Auter)
  • Now that we are R1, we have a different set of peers. We can consult policies from other R1 schools to upgrade our own, like how to increase diversity in faculty and students.
  • Executive Committee started looking at Handbook policies and issues.
  • Task Force possible for State Gov effort at attacking tenure. Lots of groups already monitoring this attempt.
V. Minutes Approval
  • February minutes (Parker, DeRouen)
    • Approved unanimously with a change of date.
VI. Committee Reports
  • Auter thanks everyone who submitted reports on Moodle before the meeting. Using Moodle submission should continue to improve communication. We encourage membership to review the reports on Moodle.

  • Announce proposals to change the Constitution.
    • Maloy: concerning article 7, on how to amend. Text available on Moodle.
    • Auter: adding committees of interest to the list. Text available on Moodle.
  • Proposals to alter the Handbook.
    • Auter proposes that we could move into a Committee of the Whole to discuss the Handbook issues more openly.
    • Motion to move into Committee of the Whole (Berkeley, Hazelwood) 38 approve, no opposed.
    • (No minutes taken during Committee of the Whole).
    • Motion to move out of Committee of the Whole (Hazelwood, Baker)
      • 28 approved, no opposed, 1 abstention (5:05)
IX. Announcements
  • DeRouen: McKinney should announce request for university committee interests for next year, so keep your eyes open.
  • Auter: VPAA web page on Handbook and Policies linking to policy site corrected.
