Faculty Senate Meeting Calendar 2021-2022

APPROVED Faculty Senate AY 2021-2022 Meeting Schedule

“A regular meeting of the Senate shall be held each month of the year from September through April, with the exception of December….” “This schedule shall be included on the agenda circulated before the September meeting and shall become effective after it is accepted by a majority vote of those voting at the September meeting.”https://facultysenate.louisiana.edu/constitution#ARTVI).

Per tradition, meetings will be held on or near the third Wednesday of the month. 3:30 PM Rap Session with the Provost or other guests. 4:00 PM – 5:30PM regular meeting. Specific dates will be dependent upon the university calendar. (https://registrar.louisiana.edu/registration/academic-calendar).

Meeting format to be determined by a vote of the faculty senate if quorum is met. Format for AY 21-22 was discussed at May meeting and voted on at that time. For AY 21-22 all regular meetings will be in Zoom. Also at May meeting, the first meeting date was approved (09-15-21). Per the constitution, remainder of schedule was discussed at last meeting of AY 20-21 – and September meeting set. But remainder of schedule was voted on at September meeting. Below is the approved schedule.

  • May (if needed)
    • Make Up Meeting if one of the regular meetings must be cancelled.
    • May 11, 2022 (Third Wednesday is after commencement)

In AY 20-21 it is hoped that additional informal Rap Sessions with administrators, external guests, and others will occur periodically. Regular senate business will not be conducted at these sessions.
